An-Naba'

am yatasaa'loona

Concerning what are they disputing?

ane An-Naba Al-Adheem

Concerning the Great News,

al-ladhee hum fee-ye mukhtalifoon

About which they cannot agree.

saa-yal-moon

Verily, they shall soon (come to) know!

thumma saa-yal-moon

Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!

Alam najali Al-ard Mehada

Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,

Wal-jibaala otadan

And the mountains as pegs?

Wa khalaqnaakum azwa faith ja

And (have We not) created you in pairs,

Waja'alna nau-mookum soobatan

And made your sleep for rest,

Waja'alna Al-layl libas

And made the night as a covering,

Waja'alna An-nahar ma'ashan

And made the day as a means of subsistence?

vabanja faukum sab'an shedadaan

And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,

Waja'alna Serajjan wahhaj

And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?

waanzalna mina Al-mu'sira faith te ma thajjaj

And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,

Lee-nukh-rija behi habben unabatan

That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,

Wajannat Alfafan

And gardens of luxurious growth?

Inna yaum Al-Fasli kana maykaten

Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,

yaum yunfakhu fay As-Soori feta'oona afwajja

The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;

vafutet As-samaa fakanat Abu faith buh

And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,

Vesiyyirat Al-jibaalu fakanat sarabã

And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.

Inna Jahannam kanat Mersada

Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,

Lilattaagheen Maaba

For the transgressors a place of destination:

labithin ahkaban

They will dwell therein for ages.

la yazookoon feeha berda sharaban

Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,

illa Hameem Vagassakan

Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,

jaza vefakan

A fitting recompense (for them).

Innahum kanoo yar-joo-na hisaban

For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),

wa kad-dhaboo be-aa-ya-tee-naa kezzaban

But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.

wa kulla shay ah-sai-nah kitaban

And all things have We preserved on record.

fathookoo Falan Nazeedakum illa azaaban

"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment."

Inna lil-muttaqeena mafazan

Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;

hadaa'iqa wa-aaanaban

Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;

wakawabja atraben

And voluptuous women of equal age;

Wakas dehaka

And a cup full (to the brim).

la yasma'oon feeha lagwa kezza faith buh

No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-

jaza min Rabbik ataa hisaban

Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,

Rabbee As-samawa faith te Wal ardi vama baynahuma yamlikoon minhu khitaben

(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.

yaum yaqoomu Ar-rooh Walmalai-katu la yataka-lamoona illa athina Lahoo Ar-Rahman wa kala sawaban

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.

dha faith leka Al-yawmu Al-Haqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila ma'aban

That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!

Inna andharnakum azaban kaariiban yaum yanzuru Al mar-oo ma qaddamat yeda-hoo Wa yaqoolu Al-Kafiru Yal-yetani koon-too toora faith baa

Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"
