بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ

Bismi Allah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

  1. 1 أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ

    alhakum At-takathur

    The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things),

  2. 2 حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ

    hutta Zurtumu Al-maqabira

    Until ye visit the graves.

  3. 3 كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

    sauf ta'lamoona

    But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality).

  4. 4 ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

    thumma sauf ta'lamoona

    Again, ye soon shall know!

  5. 5 كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡیَقِینِ

    Lau ta'lamoona ilma Al-Yaqīni

    Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!)

  6. 6 لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِیمَ

    letarounna Al-Jaheem

    Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire!

  7. 7 ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَیۡنَ ٱلۡیَقِینِ

    thumma Lataruunaha ain Al-Yaqīni

    Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight!

  8. 8 ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ یَوۡمَىِٕذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِیمِ

    thumma letuselunne Yawmaidhin ane An-Na'eem

    Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).
