Al-A'la

Subbih Ism Rab-bik Al A'la

Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,

al-ladhee khalaq Fesewwā

Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion;

Walladhee kadara fahadiya

Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance;

akh-ra-ja Al-Mar'a

And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture,

faja'alahu ghutha-an Ahwa

And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.

sanuqri'uku fala Tensa

By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,

illa ma shaa Innahu yalamu Al-jahra vama yakhfa

Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.

Vah-noo-yes-seer-kah Lil yusra

And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).

fazkir in nefaet Adh-Dhikra

Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).

saya-ththakkaru man yakhsha

The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah):

wayatajannabuha Al-ashqa

But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones,

al-ladhee yasla An-nar Al-Kubra

Who will enter the Great Fire,

thumma yamutu feeha Yahya

In which they will then neither die nor live.

Kad aflaha man tazakka

But those will prosper who purify themselves,

Vezhakara Ism Fasalla

And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer.

too-thee-roon Al-hayah Dunya

Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;

Wal-akhiratu khayr Wa abqa

But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

Inna hatha Lafee As-suhufi Al-oola

And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelation),-

suhufee Ibra faith heyma Vamusa

The Books of Abraham and Moses.
